Summary
Thornthwaite is a traditional family run farm set amidst superb scenery in the Lake District National Park. Overlooking the beautiful Woodland Valley, the whole 500 acre estate can be explored by our guests. We also have 60 acres of ancient woodland. The area is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with wildlife including deer, foxes and badgers.
Little Galey : Sleeps 4/5. Children over 8 years old only. A pleasant Lakeland stone cottage to the rear of the farmhouse. There is a large garden and patio to the front with garden furniture and barbeque set provided. The lounge has a log fire and colour television. The cottage contains a fitted kitchen with built-in electric cooker, fridge, washer/dryer and microwave. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. Bathroom downstairs.
Woodland Cottage : Sleeps 4. Cosy detached cottage which is thoughtfully furnished. There is a small garden to the front with garden furniture and barbeque set provided. The lounge area is fully furnished and has a Lakeland slate fireplace with coal effect electric fire and colour television. The kitchen area contains a fitted kitchen with a built in cooker, fridge, microwave and washer/dryer. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. Bathroom downstairs
We have a private fishing lake available for guests use.
Rates : From £180 to £380 per week depending on cottage & season.
Maximum of 5 people. Children are welcome.
Smoking is permitted. Pets allowed.
