Summary

The Old Smithy Cottage provides superb self catering accommodation between Glenridding and Patterdale. We are ideally placed for exploring Ullswater and a range of excellent attractions in Cumbria.

Accommodation

Our ground-floor apartment sleeps up to 5 people and boasts an enclosed garden to unwind in. The apartment is well-equipped and offers free Wi-Fi.

Inside we have a lounge with 2 sofas, a chair, a wood-burning stove and a smart TV with Sky. This is a great spot to relax after a day sightseeing. The spacious kitchen/diner comes with a tiled floor and a range of appliances: fridge/freezer, washing machine, double oven, microwave and dishwasher. We even provide a ‘paw washing’ bowl for dogs.

We have 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin including a travel cot and 1 single room. All the rooms have space to hang or fold clothes and the double room has a hair dryer. The rooms share a bathroom with a toilet, sink and a shower over the bath.

Outside we have a rear garden that is mostly grass and includes a bench for al fresco dining.

Visting Glenridding & Exploring Cumbria

We are in a brilliant spot for enjoying lots of walking routes in the area, including the Helvellyn walk along Striding Edge. You can take a boat ride on Ullswater or head into one of the nearby towns or villages. Visit Lowther Castle & Gardens or hike up Steel Knotts. Attractions to visit include:

Great Mell Fell.
Aira Force Waterfall.
National Trust - Hill Top.
Windermere.
Hadrian's Wall.
