Moreton House on the outskirts of Bideford offers fabulous self catering accommodation in a beautifully renovated Grade II Listed Georgian country house. We are located near the coast and ideally placed for exploring the many attractions of North Devon.

Accommodation

We have 4 wonderful apartments plus two additional guest suites to choose from. They can be booked individually to suit lone travellers, couples or small families, or combined to suit larger families or groups. We offer short stays and weekly holiday lettings, but also are able to arrange function rooms and catering or private dining in addition to accommodation, creating a venue for weddings, retreats, parties and corporate events.

The Cook’s Suite

This wonderful family apartment is set in the old Victorian kitchens. This ground floor and pet-friendly suite is stylishly furnished and features a wonderful open kitchen/dining/lounge area. The kitchen comes with a range cooker in the Victorian fireplace and the living area has a smart TV.

Two attractive bedrooms are available, a large master room with a lavish four poster bed and ensuite with roll top bath, and a second room which can be made up as two singles or a superking. Outside there is a private courtyard with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining.

Housekeeper’s Suite

Built around the old servants hall, this gorgeous apartment makes a brilliant entertaining space, great for a family celebration. The light-filled open plan kitchen/dining/lounge has a log burning fireplace and the living area has a smart TV with DVD player. The kitchen is well-equipped with a range cooker. This ground floor apartment offers wheelchair accessibility.

Two large en suite bedrooms are available, one with its own fireplace. Outside there is private deck with seating area, firepit and BBQ, offering a great spot for a sundowner.

Bakehouse Studio

Our well-equipped and pet-friendly studio offers a perfect space for a lone traveller or couple. The kitchen is built around the original Victorian bread oven, and there is a breakfast bar, a small seating and dining or desk area, smart TV, and ensuite wet room shower room. There is a king size bed for a restful night's sleep. Outside there is a private decking area and a BBQ, offering a lovely spot for a glass of bubbly.

The Buck Suite

This stylish first floor apartment is perfect for families, offering a large master room with a king sleigh bed and ensuite with roll top bath plus large walk in shower, and a second bedroom, also ensuite, with double plus single bed.

A delightful open plan kitchen comes with a large breakfast bar and the living area has a smart TV and wood burner for those chilly evenings.

Scott and Daddon Suites

Ensuite guest rooms can be booked with any of the other apartments to increase the number of bedrooms, without necessarily needing an additional kitchen or lounge. Scott offers a king bed, and Daddon a truly luxurious VIP suite with emperor four poster bed and additional day bed and single. First floor (sorry no pets)

Visiting Bideford & Exploring Devon

The ancient port town of Bideford lies on the banks of the River Torridge, known for its mediaeval stone bridge and pannier market as well as working quay with regular ferry service to the island of Lundy. The southwest coast path and Tarka trail run through, making this a great starting point for walking and cycling, and the many beaches of North Devon are easily reached, including Westward Ho!, Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe. In just half an hour you can be exploring Cornwall, Exmoor or Dartmoor. Children will love the nearby North Devon Wake Park, Ultimate Adventure Centre and Skern Lodge, as well as The Big Sheep, an amusement park with rides and live shows. Great attractions to visit include:

Westward Ho! Beach.
Appledore village.
Clovelly.
RHS Rosemoor gardens.
Lundy Island.
