Orchard Cottage offers self catering accommodation in the hamlet of Hopton Heath, surrounded by the Shropshire hills, country lanes and tranquil countryside. We are close to Craven Arms and only 10 miles from both Bishop’s Castle and Ludlow.

This former’s blacksmith’s forge has been beautifully converted and offers original features, including oak beams. The cottage sleeps up to 3 people and is based on a rural smallholding.

The beamed lounge has a toasty wood burner, comfortable seating, satellite TV and enjoys views over the garden. A well-equipped kitchen comes with a 4-ring gas hob and full-size electric oven, microwave and fridge with a small freezer compartment.

The bedroom comes with a king-size bed and boasts views over the garden. A further drop-down single bed is in the lounge and can be made available by prior arrangement. The bathroom has a bath and shower over and a towel rail. All bed linen and towels are included. There is underfloor heating throughout.

Outside there is a pretty cottage garden with sitting and dining areas. Great spots for al fresco dining whilst admiring views over the South Shropshire’s rolling hills.

We are in an ideal location for exploring the Border country, based on the edge of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Wales. We are near Offas Dyke, lots of stunning National Trust properties and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. In Ludlow, you can browse the interesting shops or try one of the restaurants, whilst many festivals are held regularly. Activities in the area include walking, golf, cycling, mountain bikes, horse riding and horse riding. Attractions to visit include:

Ludlow Castle.
Ludlow Museum.
Mortimer Forest.
National Trust - Berrington Hall.
Stokesay Court.
