Accommodation

The shepherd huts are identical in their interiors, each thoughtfully designed to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay. Positioned at a distance from one another, they offer complete privacy for guests seeking a secluded retreat. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure a truly special experience. With pure linen bedding and high-end fixtures and fittings, each hut exudes warmth and cosiness, promising a restful night’s sleep. Complimentary toiletries, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities, are provided, along with fresh bed linen and towels. Additional amenities include a heated blanket, a hairdryer, a hand basin with running water, a kettle and cups and glasses, ensuring a stay that is both relaxing and convenient.

Bothan Buidheag is situated beside the stable where the resident donkeys, Gilbert and George, spend their nights. From the window, guests can enjoy sweeping views to the east, where the sea stretches toward the horizon and the majestic mountains of Knoydart rise dramatically from the water in the distance.

Bothan Beileag shares the same luxurious amenities as Bothan Buidheag but is situated closer to the ‘Big Shed,’ where its private bathroom is located. Parking is conveniently adjacent to the hut, making it an appealing option for some visitors. Like its counterpart, it offers a fully fenced outdoor space, providing a secure area for guests’ dogs to roam freely. The outlook differs, facing northeast toward the high moors and mountains that rise over the route to Caol Reithe. Just outside the window, a flower and herb garden flourishes, attracting bees throughout the growing season, adding to the hut’s natural charm.

The ‘Big Shed’ cabin serves as a communal space, offering a comfortable lounge with sofas and a well-equipped kitchen with a dining table, all included in the stay. The kitchen features a range cooker, microwave, individual fridges for guests, and a full selection of utensils, pots, pans, plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses, cafetières and a teapot. A dishwasher is available for convenience, and guests can also make use of the on-site herb garden. The space is heated with electric heating and stocked with guidebooks, maps, and postcards available for purchase. Dogs are welcome in all areas, though guests are kindly asked to ensure others are comfortable with their presence and to use the provided throws for pets on the sofas. An outdoor dog shower and a dog first-aid kit are available for use. A recycling station is also provided, encouraging environmentally friendly practices during the stay.

With sweeping views of the sea and the distant mainland mountains of Knoydart, The Summerhouse offers a peaceful retreat, perfect for unwinding and soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings. Designed as a little sanctuary, it provides a cosy space with seating for four, a heater to ward off the chill, electricity, lighting, and a full glass frontage that maximises the stunning view. Whether enjoying a book, reading the Sunday paper, or simply watching the world go by, guests can fully embrace the slower pace of life in Heasta, where the landscape is shaped more by nature, sheep, and cattle than by the demands of modern life.

A breakfast basket can be ordered at the time of booking, offering a selection of supplies designed for two people.
