Visiting Churcham & Exploring Gloucestershire
The Lodge could not be better positioned to reach so many experiences. Within 5 miles are excellent pubs, restaurants and one of the most beautiful cathedrals. A ten screen cinema is nearby as well as a large shopping mall. One of Gloucester’s main attractions has to be the renovated Dockland, where not so long ago, Victorian industries thrived. The former dock estate has become a popular free destination that visitors can enjoy, demonstrating:
Old docks and a lock.
A remarkably complete example of a Victorian port.
Many fine warehouses and other dock-related buildings that have been put to new use.
Ships once discharged their cargoes here. Now you can see an ever-changing variety of visiting narrowboats, smart motor cruisers and the occasional yacht or tall ship. The area is suitable for wheelchairs.
