Accommodation
The modern kitchen is equipped with a full-sized electric cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator with ice box and all the cutlery and crockery you may need - if it is not there, please ask.The comfortably furnished spacious sitting room is a triple aspect and has a television, electric fire, books and games. Double French doors lead to a patio garden for the use of lodge guests. There is ample private parking for two cars.
The bathroom is also on the ground floor and is equipped with a full sized bath with shower over, and a shaver point.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are in the cottage style with sloping ceilings; One has twin beds and the other a double bed. They are equipped with a duvet and two pillows per person. A wardrobe is provided on the landing and each room has ample drawer space.
The double bedroom is galleried and overlooks the kitchen and the raised area at one end affords good views of the distant hills.

Holly lodge has recently been converted to a high standard and is situated adjacent to Holly Tree Cottage which was built in the 17th Century in the traditional Herefordshire “black and white” style.We are at Burley Gate, just off a quiet lane midway between the cathedral city of Herefordshire and Brom yard, in the heart of rural Herefordshire. Distant views of the Welsh mountains may be enjoyed from the upstairs windows of the lodge.
The area has many attractions nearby, including the fascinating “black and white” villages, the world famous Mappa Mundi, the Wye Valley, and many gardens and properties open to the public. Excellent walking country can be found both locally among the famous cider apple orchards and on the Offa’s Dyke Long Distance Path along the Herefordshire and Welsh borders.
The renowned theatre at Stratford-on-Avon is within easy reach, as are the acclaimed arts, poetry, music, food, jazz and photography festivals held annually at nearby Hay-on-Wye, Ledbury, Malvern, Ludlow, Brecon and Hereford. Sporting, activities of all kinds are close at hand, from canoeing on the river Wye to racing at Hereford, Ludlow and Cheltenham.
Burley Gate has a village Post Office/newsagents/food store only a few minutes walk down the lane.
