About Doire Farm Cottages

John’s is a light and airy detached holiday cottage, facing out into the courtyard. Originally, this was a stable, restored with its original 18th Century stone.

Downstairs there is a large sitting room with a feature stone wall and a fully fitted kitchen diner. Upstairs has a spacious double bedroom and a small single bedroom. There is a large bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, power shower and stylish, mosaic tiling. The cottage has a private garden/patio area with seating which enjoys views of the surrounding farmland and mountains.

Pa’s holiday Cottage one of two semi-detached cottages that look out into the courtyard. This was part of the original 18th Century dwelling house. Downstairs is spacious and features a fitted kitchen/diner and a spacious sitting room with open fire and sumptuous leather furniture. There is one bedroom downstairs and two more upstairs, all of which are en suite. Bathrooms feature Jacuzzi bath and deluxe power shower. There is a private garden/patio area with seating.

Tom’s holiday Cottage is one of two semi-detached cottages that look out into the courtyard. This was part of the original 18th Century dwelling house. Downstairs is open plan and features a fitted kitchen/diner and a spacious sitting room with open fire and sumptuous leather furniture.

There is one bedroom downstairs and two more upstairs, all of which are en suite. Bathroom feature Jacuzzi bath and deluxe power shower. There is a private garden/patio area with seating. Outside the cottages, guests can appreciate the farm atmosphere with views over rolling countryside. The cottages even have their own barn which will be restored in the near future.

For children, there is a sturdy wooden climbing frame and there is a basketball play area for both young and old.

Two pieces of ancient Irish bog oak can be found into the garden. One of which has been christened “the friendly crocodile”.

Visiting Kenmare & Exploring Co Kerry

There are plenty of things to see and do in the area. The bustling heritage town of Kenmare is a short drive from Doire Farm Cottages. With its brightly coloured shops, world-renowned bars, restaurants and stunning scenery, it has plenty to offer. Just a short drive from Kenmare, at Templenoe, is coss Strand, a safe cobble beach for swimming.

Doire Farm Cottages is a perfect base for exploring the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara, the Dingle Peninsula, Skellig Rock, Blarney Castle, West Cork & walking the Kerry Way.

Kilgarvan is a traditional village, just 2 miles away. It hosts numerous pubs, two shops and a motor museum. Here you can meet with the real locals. Ardtully castle is just a short distance away and is worth a visit.

The Roughty River runs from Kilgarvan to Kenmare- all you have to do is bring your fishing rod, buy a license locally and away you go.

Game shooting trips can be arranged - two months notice is required to organize a license.
