Ding Dong Cottages

Summary

Ding Dong Cottages are set within 7 acres of meadows, near New Mill, high on the hills north of Penzance in Cornwall. The three self catering properties comprise two cottages and a cabin. The properties have matchless views across the surrounding countryside, over Mounts Bay and towards the Lizard Peninsula.

Bal Cottage

Bal Cottage can sleep 4 people plus a cot. A large living room enjoys lovely views on each side including a wide bay window facing west. Facilities include a 48" wide screen HD TV with Freeview via ChromeCast, DVD/CD player, radio, games, books and a multi fuel stove. The kitchen/dining room with its original granite fireplace, is spacious and fully equipped with cooker, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, iron and ironing board. Two ground floor bedrooms are available. Each includes a 4’6” double bed and hand wash basin.

The Loft

The Loft is ideal for two people. It has an upstairs living room which provides great views from all four sides; on a clear day you can see for almost 30 miles across Mount’s bay and towards the Lizard Peninsula. The living room has a 30" TV, DVD/CD player and a 4 foot two-seater bed settee, which provides the option of extra accommodation. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need. The adjacent dining room is at ground level and the first room you enter from outside. A wide picture window looks out over farmland and fields to the sea. The tiny bedroom is reached by a short flight of fixed steps from the facilities area and is provided with handles for the faint hearted.

The Cabin

The Cabin, tucked away at the end of our wild garden, also offers fantastic views of countryside and sea. The Cabin can sleep 2 people. It includes a 22" wide screen TV with Freeview, radio and fridge/freezer. Room to relax and unwind in the living area. The kitchen has a full sized modern gas cooker with four graded hob burners, main oven & 2nd oven/grill, plus a good supply of cooking utensils. Outside the full width decking area is perfect for enjoying the sunshine, and a lawn space in front of The Cabin has a table and chairs for eating outside.

Visiting New Mill & Exploring Cornwall

The cottages are within easy walking distance of many ancient sites, including the iron age village of Chycauster, the Nine Maidens, Lanyon Quoit, the Mên-an-Tol and Chûn Castle. Surrounded on three sides by the Penwith Moors, which stretch all the way from the Land's End to St Ives; re-discover the natural world. Further afield in Penzance there are many places to explore. The Jackson Foundation is an environmentally informed art space showcasing the work of leading British contemporary artist Kurt Jackson and highlighting the efforts of environmental charities and NGOs. Chygurno has a dramatic garden carved into the cliff edge teetering over stunning Lamorna Cove. This waterside garden tiers down in steep steps and terraces to meet sheltered woodland.

Fun for all the family can be found at Eureka Escape which offers exciting and interactive real life escape rooms. With several themed rooms to choose from, you can expect an experience full of fun, adventure and intrigue!
