Summary

2 Stonework Cottage offers charming self catering on the edge of the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve in East Sussex, perfect for an idyllic getaway. We are only a 20-minute drive from the Dungeness RSPB site and further afield there are lots of great attractions to visit.

Accommodation

Our cosy cottage is tastefully furnished and comes with everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful break.

On the ground floor is a delightful lounge with a wood-burning stove (some logs provided) for the winter months, a dining room, a kitchen and a shower room/WC. The well-equipped kitchen area is great for home-cooking and includes an electric hob, oven, microwave, toaster and fridge. A washing machine is also available.

Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms: 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom with 2x 3′ beds. Bed linen and towels are included in the price.

The cottage is equipped with a TV with Freeview & a DVD player, free Wi-Fi, electricity and heating (included in the price).

There is a seating area in the rear yard, great for a relaxing coffee in the morning sun.

Visiting Rye & Exploring East Sussex

The village of Rye Harbour is ideally situated to explore local places of interest. The ancient town of Rye with its cobbled streets, many antique shops and restaurants is 1.5 miles away, Winchelsea, Romney Marshes or family fun at Camber Sands are within 20 minutes by car. Historic Hastings is also 20 minutes by train. The area lends itself to walking, cycling and bird watching as well as water sports, or just relaxing. There is an active community of local artists and photographers.

The beach is a 10-minute walk away, with the fishing/boating harbour even closer at 3-4 minutes. A cycle lane on the road to Rye is now complete, providing safety for walkers or cyclists. The village pub serves excellent food. The village is well served by a regular bus service to Rye, has a well-stocked shop as well as a cafe and a church and provides opportunities for watching boats, people and life go by.
