Dove House & Swallows are 2 award winning self catering houses just outside of Dorchester and Weymouth. Our cottages near Weymouth are situated in 1000 acres of Dorset farmland. Just 5 miles from Dorchester and 10 miles from Weymouth, we are perfect for a family holiday, quiet break or special celebration.

Dove House

Dove House sleeps up to 13 people in 7 en suite bedrooms. The interior is light, spacious and furnished to a high standard. The property has oil central heating throughout and an enclosed garden area with patio. The ground floor of the self catering property consists of a spacious living room with an open fire in stone surround and rugs on an oak floor. It has a TV/DVD player and radio/cassette/CD player. A full Sky package is available in the lounge and we provide a good selection of books and games. French doors lead to the garden.

A large kitchen/dining room is available. The painted oak kitchen come with white stone tops throughout. Facilities include a 6 burner gas hob, 3 ovens, microwave, large fridge, large fridge/freezer, drinks fridge and 2 dishwashers (all Neff appliances). This area also come with a flat screen TV, sofa, ceramic floor, shuttered windows and full length curtains over the French windows. This leads to the secure south facing garden and patio area. A lovely space to spend time together as a group. A utility room comes with a washing machine, tumble dryer, extra cupboards and ample hooks for coats etc. It leads to a covered parking area. On the ground floor there is also a cloakroom/WC and twin room (zip together beds) with en suite shower room WC.Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms available:

One twin/6ft double with en suite shower/WC and TV point.
One twin/6ft double with en suite shower/WC.
One twin/6ft double with en suite bath/WC.
Two 5ft doubles with en suite bath/WC and TV point.
One single with en suite /WC and TV point.
Twin/6ft double with stunning new en suite wet room/WC. It is suitable for limited mobility guests.

Swallows

Swallows is a warm, cosy and comfortable 2 bedroom en suite cottage. It is ideally suited for smaller families or couples. As the accommodation is all on one level, it is also popular with visitors with limited mobility. Designed for 4 people to share in comfort, the cottage has a large enclosed garden. It is completely private and separate from Dove House. The garden is secure for any small dog. Wonderful walks are available straight from the door.

Swallows is all on the ground floor and comes with a spacious beamed living/dining room with a wood burning stove, Freeview TV/DVD and radio/cd player. French doors lead to the garden. The well equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave.

Visiting Dorchester & Exploring Dorset

We are close to the stunning Jurassic Coastline. You can visit Dancing Ledge near Studland or enjoy the stunning sights of Durdle Door near Lulworth Cove. The lovely old Harbour at Weymouth, The Flete and Chesil Beach and Golden Cap at Chideock are all worth visiting. The famous Cobb at Lyme Regis is wonderful for fossil hunting.

You can enjoy stunning coastal walks covering nearly all these areas and savour glorious views. All offer an exhilarating experience at different times of year. The walking and cycling trails are extensive both from Dove House and nearby locations. We can direct you to some great circular walks to justify that big supper in the evening! There are more gardens, National Trust properties, houses and locations than you could ever fit in a one week visit. The Tourist Board can give you the annual National Garden Scheme booklet for open gardens prior to your stay.
