Alderwood Lodges

Summary

Alderwood Lodges consists of three luxury timber lodges situated in Diss literally a few yards from the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The market towns of Diss & Thetford are only 8 miles away. These lodges are furnished to a high standard and are situated in nine acres of woodland and grassland beside the Little Ouse. This tranquil site on the edge of the Brecks with unique flora and fauna holds the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation.

Burnside

This is a two bedroomed lodge with kitchen/diner, lounge area and bathroom. Fully carpeted throughout, the lodge is heated by electric panel heaters in all rooms. There is also an electric coal effect fire in the lounge. All linen is provided, including towels and tea towels. The cost of electricity is included in the rental charge. The open plan kitchen/diner and lounge area has two 2 seater settees and a TV/DVD player. French doors open onto a verandah with garden furniture to enjoy outdoor meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher and automatic washer/dryer.

There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with twin beds. All beds are fitted with duvets and electric blankets. A cot and highchair are also available. There is a clock radio alarm in the double bedroom, as well as a hairdryer. The bathroom has a bath and overhead electric shower and a shaver socket.

Hawthorn Lodge

This has three bedrooms with lounge/dining area, kitchen and bathroom. All linen is provided, including towels and tea towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything required to provide your own meals. There is an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, automatic washer/dryer and microwave oven. The open plan lounge/dining area comfortably seats six people, with 3 and 2 seater sofas and a chair, positioned around an electric cast iron coal burner. There is a widescreen TV, DVD player, mini Hi-Fi unit and a telephone. The dining area has a table and chairs to seat six. French doors open onto a south facing verandah with garden furniture to relax outside with a drink.

There are three bedrooms comprising a master room with King size bed and en suite shower room, portable TV, clock radio alarm and hairdryer; one twin room and one bunk room, both with full size beds. All beds are fitted with duvets. The master and twin rooms have electric blankets. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. There is a toilet, shower and washbasin en suite to the master bedroom. The main bathroom is equipped with a full size bath with overhead shower, washbasin and toilet. There are shaver points in both bathrooms.

Brambles

Brambles has two bedrooms, lounge/dining area, kitchen and bathrooms. All linen is provided, including towels & tea towels. All electricity is included in the rental charge. There are electric panels heaters in each room. The Lounge seats 4 people in 2 x two seater leather sofas around a log effect electric fire. There is an LCD TV with a DVD player, a radio/CD player and a telephone. Free Wi-Fi access is available in Brambles (some download restrictions apply). French doors open out to the south facing verandah wood decking area which seats 4 people on garden furniture with parasol so you can enjoy a relaxing drink. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything required to provide your own meals. There is an electric oven & hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, automatic washer and microwave oven. A tumble dryer is in an outside adjacent shed that also houses the charcoal BBQ, recycling bins and space for your bicycles if needed.

The king sized bedroom has en suite shower, WC & washbasin, hairdryer, clock radio & LCD 22" TV. Bedroom 2 is a twin room with full size 3ft wide beds. All beds are fitted with duvets and electric blankets. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. The main bathroom is equipped with a full size bath with overhead shower, washbasin and toilet. There are shaver points in both bathrooms. There is a ramped wheelchair access to the dining/lounge area only.

Visiting Garboldisham & Exploring Norfolk

Garboldisham village is just a mile away. It has a shop, pub and a Post Office. There are hard tennis courts and a children’s play area on the Recreation Ground.

The nearby town of Diss provides a great base for accessing the Norfolk Broads, the Suffolk and North Norfolk Coast.
