Greygles offers charming self catering accommodation in Melcombe Bingham near Dorchester. Set in the hills of central Dorset, we enjoy stunning countryside views. We are just off the Wessex Ridgeway walkers’ path and The Jurassic Coast is only 30 minutes away.

Accommodation

This wonderful house offers the feel of a country cottage but with modern facilities and space for a family party. It comfortably sleeps up to seven people. There are four bedrooms in all – 2 doubles with king-size beds, 1 twin and 1 single. Of the double bedrooms, one - with a bathroom and toilet next to it - is on the ground floor. For young children, there is the fun of a Wendy house in the garden.

The sitting room has the delight of an open fire (a stock of logs and coal is supplied), TV and looks out to open field and hills. The well-equipped kitchen has an electric hob, oven and an Aga cooker. There is also a microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher plus a walk-in larder. Near the front door, there is a further bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The downstairs bedroom has a king-size bed, large built-in cupboard and antique chest of drawers. A full bathroom with bath, shower, basin and toilet is immediately adjacent. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed, antique furniture and lovely views. En suite facilities include a bathroom with a roll-top bath, shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.

Outside there is a beautiful south-facing patio and lawn with garden furniture and a BBQ. A great place for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun.

Visiting Melcombe Bingham &B Exploring Dorset

Greygles is only 10-15 miles from several other pleasant towns – Sturminster Newton, Sherborne and Blandford Forum. The nearest large town is Bournemouth, about 30 miles to the south-east. The Jurassic Coast with its dramatic cliffs and coves, as well as ancient abbeys and castles, wonderful gardens, lovely old towns and even a tank museum, are all within a half-hour drive. Great attractions to visit include:

Kingston Maurward Gardens & Animal.
Maiden Castle.
