Fishery Cottages sit at the most southerly point of Donegal. Surrounded by water, this unique location was chosen as a strategic defence position by ancient clans but is now a spectacular holiday location. There is excellent fishing and surfing facilities.

There are 4 exclusive cottages, two of each type :

Type A : 2 doubles and 1 twin bedroom, one of which is ensuite with TV and video (twin beds can be joined); main bathroom ; downstairs toilet and utility room; kitchen/dining room and living room. Both bathrooms have walk-in electric showers. Sleeps 6. Overlooking the river and with sea views.

Type B : 2 twin bedrooms, both ensuite with TV and video (twins can be joined); upstairs living room, kitchen/dining room and a toilet. Both bathrooms have walk-in electric showers. Sleeps 4. Spectacular views over the 'salmon-pools' and the ocean. Binoculars are provided to watch the salmon jump or porpoises in the surf, as you relax in the living room!

All of the cottages have Fáilte Ireland's highest 4 star classification and are finished to a luxurious standard with every modern convenience :
Television in the ensuite bedrooms, dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV and video, microwave, coffee maker and Juicer, fridge/freezer, CD/radio.
Gas central heating and wood burning stove. Bed linen and towels for use in the cottages. Internet facilities available. Spectacular views of the river and the Ocean. Private and natural river-bank.

Drying rooms, barbeques, fishing rods and equipment storage. Guests, over 18 years old, have full use of all of these facilities, free of charge.

Pets : By prior arrangement only and subject to a 250 Euro damage deposit.

Cots and highchairs: These can be requested, subject to availability.

Heating/electricity : The houses are heated by gas central heating. All energy use is metered and charged against a €150 security/damage deposit, with the balance refundable after departure.

The seaside town of Bundoran, with holiday attractions such as 'Waterworld' and the new sea-weed baths, golf, ten-pin bowling, restaurants and bars, charter-boat fishing etc. is only 1 kilometre away.

The blue-flag beaches of Mullaghmore, Bundoran, and Rossnowlagh are nearby. Sligo and Donegal towns are both within a 30-minute drive.

'Yeats' Country', ancient Irish archaelogical sites and Donegal Castle are all only a short distance away.

The area offers sailing, diving, coarse fishing and horse riding facilities. Salmon swim within metres of the houses, on their way to their traditional spawning grounds.

Walk, fish from the garden, play golf on your choice of 3 courses, surf the Atlantic swells, go horse riding, or be content to relax, watch the dolphins in the surf and enjoy your vacation in Ireland.

Ireland's west coast has some of Europe's best surf. Storms in the Atlantic Ocean produce regular swells which reach Ireland's west coast unhindered. Donegal's long and varied coast provides numerous reef and beach breaks.

Rates : From £450 to £695 per week depending on season.
Maximum of 6 people. Children are welcome.
Smoking is permitted. Pets are allowed.
