Pointhouse Self Catering Arran
Kingscross, Isle of Arran
Summary
Point House, along with the adjacent Point House Cottage and Summer Cottage, is set on 7 acres of private land at Kings Cross on the Isle of Arran. Situated in secluded woodland we are just a short walk along a private footpath to two sheltered bays. The self-catering is accessed via a private road, with ample parking and a safe play area for children. The views from the houses and the shore are breathtaking, stretching across Lamlash Bay to the Holy Isle and its lighthouse.
Pointhouse - Sleeps 7
Pointhouse, the original family farmhouse, features two double bedrooms upstairs (one with an ensuite) and a single room that shares shower and toilet facilities. While the staircase is steep due to the house's age, the upstairs offers lovely views. On the ground floor, there is a small double bedroom with an adjacent bathroom, along with a dining room, lounge and a conservatory overlooking the sea. The modern kitchen includes a Rayburn cooker for cooking and hot water, though it is turned off during hot weather. The ground floor, with step-free access from the car to the house, makes it especially appealing for those with mobility issues.Pointhouse Cottage - Sleeps 4 adults & 2 children
Pointhouse Cottage, originally a byre for cows with its 1 metre thick walls, now offers charming accommodation with two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite and the other sharing a bathroom featuring a sunken bath and overhead shower. The kitchen and dining area comfortably accommodate 4 adults and 2 children, thanks to a bunk room with two bunks. The lounge boasts an exposed beam ceiling and a wood burner for cosy evenings. While most of the cottage is on a single level, there are 2 or 3 small steps between some of the rooms.Summer Cottage - Sleeps 2 adults & 2 children
The Summer Cottage is distinctive, with a spacious conservatory that seamlessly integrates into the lounge, providing a bright and open atmosphere that benefits from an electric fan on hot days. It features a private parking space and steps leading to a patio area off the conservatory. The double bedroom includes its own bathroom, while the bunk room has an independent shower room. Our self catering is available from March - October and we offer weekly bookings from Saturday to Saturday.
