The Area

Acw House is conveniently located a short walk from two welcoming local pubs, both of which offer delicious meals and feature extensive beer gardens for guests to enjoy. Just a bit beyond, at over 2 miles away, lies the beautiful Shell Island beach, surrounded by many miles of breathtaking beaches in the vicinity, including Llandanwg, which has been honoured as the 'best beach in Britain.'

A brief car journey will take you to the lively town of Barmouth, where you can stroll along the promenade and treat yourself to some classic fish and chips. A standout attraction in the town is the Barmouth Bridge, a historic railway viaduct over 150 years old that spans the Mawddach Estuary. Stretching half a mile, it features a wooden walkway accessible to both pedestrians and cyclists, now incorporated into the Wales Coast Path and the Lon Las Cymru Cycle Network.

Only 5 miles away, the Nantcol waterfalls provide a picturesque setting for a day out, making it an ideal spot for a family picnic and some fun in the stream. A mere 10-minute drive will bring you to Harlech, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Harlech Castle, offering a rich glimpse into history. Acw House stands as a prime base from which to explore the wonders of this segment of Snowdonia National Park, with the beach just 3 miles away.
