Summary

Big Pink House offers outstanding self catering accommodation in Mealsgate, just north of Bassenthwaite. We are perfect for parties, social gatherings, family reunions and walking holidays in a beautiful area of Cumbria.

Accommodation

Our house sleeps up to 22 people and is perfect for a special occasion. We also welcome well-behaved stag and hen parties.

Inside we have a spacious dining room with an (un-stocked) bar that seats 22 (plus additional seating). You can relax in the lounge after a busy day sightseeing. The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a separate pantry/prep kitchen. There are 2 game areas with a pool table.

In total, we have 9 bedrooms: 8 rooms can be made as a twin or super king and there is also 1 bunk room. A single bed and bunk bed can be provided in some of the rooms. All the rooms include an en suite shower/bathroom, dressing table, beside cabinets and wardrobe.

Entertainment facilities include a 50’’ Plasma TV in the lounge and an additional TV in the bar area.

Outside we have private grounds to enjoy, including an outdoor hot tub. There is a patio and garden, a children's play area, BBQ and a children’s play area.

Visting Mealsgate & Exploring Cumbria

Whilst staying with us you can discover all that the local area has to offer. Only a 20-minute drive from us private hire swimming slots are available at Dalston Leisure Pool. You can visit the market town of Cockermouth or explore Kewsick and Ambleside. Attractions to visit include:

Lake District Wildlife Park.
Bassenthwaite Lake.
Go Ape Whinlatter.
Skiddaw.
Buttermere.
