Hicks Farm Holidays, situated where the borders of Shropshire, Herefordshire & Powys meet , offers lovely self-catering accommodation, based in a glorious countryside setting. Our two properties can be booked together, ideal for a large group or family gathering in the Welsh Border.

Accommodation

We have two cottages to choose from, Orchard House and Rose Cottage, both nestled in a peaceful setting. Each cottage is tastefully furnished and well-equipped to suit all your needs. All our guests also have use of an indoor swimming pool, outdoor play area and a games room with pool and table football. You can also follow the farm trails, meet our animals or enjoy a relaxing picnic in the woodland. Outside caterers are available and everyone from both properties can sit down to dine in Orchard House’s farmhouse kitchen.

Rose Cottage

Our cottage sleeps 7 in 3 bedrooms, plus 2 cots. The cottage dates from the early 18th Century and now offers modern accommodation whilst retaining original features, including exposed beams and a complete bread oven.

The cottage has a farmhouse kitchen/dining room with a ceramic hob electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge together with kettle & toaster. A utility room houses a front-loading washing machine, tumble dryer and chest freezer. Unwind in the lounge that has comfy seating and flat screen smart TV with Sky Freesat, a DVD player and a wood burning stove.

Bedrooms consist of a master bedroom with a double bedstead with a king-size duvet including en suite facilities, a second bedroom with three full-size single pine bedsteads and a twin room. A family bathroom has a shower over the bath.

You also have a BBQ cabin that seats 14 and a patio area for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun.

Orchard House

We offer accommodation for up to 14 people in 5 bedrooms plus 3 cots. The barn has been converted from a cow byre to offer modern accommodation. Delightful original features have been retained. You can also enjoy the extra-large BBQ cabin & Bar which is exclusively for Orchard House guests when the properties are booked separately.

Unwind in the lounge that has comfy seating, a wood-burning stove, speaker with dock (Bluetooth enabled), large flat-screen Smart television, with Blu-ray player. A well-equipped farmhouse kitchen/dining room has a range-style electric cooker with ceramic hob, tall larder fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, kettles, toasters and all the necessary crockery and cutlery.

The downstairs twin or super-king bedroom has an en suite bathroom which is wheelchair friendly. The downstairs doors are extra wide for people with limited mobility.

Upstairs the north suite has an en suite and an en suite cot room. 2 further rooms have three and four full-size single pine bedsteads. These two bedrooms share a bathroom. Our south bedroom suite has a king-size bed and a single bedstead, plus en suite facilities.

Outside there is a large well-fenced garden and a lovely patio area with furniture for al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine.

Visiting Presteigne & Exploring Powys

Our cottages are in a fantastic position for discovering all that the area has to offer. The area has lots of scenic walking and cycling routes to enjoy. You can explore the black and white villages, historic castles and churches of the Marches area. Excellent attractions to visit include:

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.
Berrington Hall.
Offa’s Dyke Centre.
Ludlow Castle.
West Midlands Safari Park.
