Swallows Farm Cottage offers wonderful self catering accommodation on the edge of the charming village of Sykehouse. Based near Goole in a peaceful area of South Yorkshire, we offer easy access to the historic city of York and lots of quaint market towns.

Accommodation

Our charming farmhouse sleeps up to 4 people and is surrounded by stunning south Yorkshire countryside. The farmhouse offers modern accommodation whilst retaining its original character, including beamed ceilings and fabulous fireplaces.

The property benefits from two cosy sitting rooms to relax in. Each room comes with a toasty wood burner for those chilly days. One sitting room comes with Sky, whilst the other comes with Freeview.

Cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen that comes with a range of appliances: 3 ovens, 7-ring ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, further fridge integrated, washing machine and dishwasher. Enjoy a home-cooked feast in the dining room that features a large dining table with seating for up to 22 people.

In total, there are 8 bedrooms, plus 1 single bed on the second-floor landing. Two of the bedrooms have an en suite bath or shower room. On the first floor, there are 3 doubles, including one with a trundle and double bed and one with a day. A further bedroom comes with 4 singles adjoining a bathroom, whilst a separate single room is also available.

On the top floor, there is a family room with 1 double and 1 single, 1 double with a trundle and 1 single on the second-floor landing. The main bathroom comes with a roll-top bath and shower cubicle, whilst a ground-floor bathroom is also available.

Outside there are 20 acres of grounds to enjoy. Garden furniture and a BBQ are provided for al fresco dining whilst savouring the breathtaking countryside views. You can soak away your troubles in the luxurious hot tub and children can have fun on the trampoline.

Visiting Sykehouse & Exploring South Yorkshire

We are in a fantastic spot for exploring the area. In the village is The Old George, a lovely pub serving a Sunday carvery. You can enjoy idyllic walks in the countryside or have an adrenaline-filled day at Xscape, a giant leisure complex featuring an indoor real snow ski-slope, a surf simulator, cinemas and a bowling alley. Only 20 minutes away is Thorne Golf Club, whilst the Humberhead Peatlands Nature Reserve is home to an abundance of birdlife. Great attractions to visit include:
