Dornie Lodges offers a self catering property, Lochside Lodge located on a large site in the village of Dornie, on the shore of Loch Long. We are only a short stroll from the village centre and only 10 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh and the bridge to Skye.
Our well-equipped lodge is primarily glass-fronted, perfect for taking advantage of the breathtaking views over the loch and hills. The house sleeps up to 8 people and is great for an extended family or a group looking to stay in a very scenic setting.
The shape of the house pays homage to the traditional highland long-house but includes a range of luxurious facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A fabulous living space extends to the full height of the building, with 3 large leather sofas dotted around the log burner and looking out to the amazing view. The property also boasts underfloor heating for the winter months.
Enjoy some delicious home-cooked meals around the large dining table. Sliding doors open onto a fully-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge freezer, ceramic hob, 2 ovens and a microwave. An automatic washing machine and dryer are also available.
There are four spacious bedrooms, with 2 at each end of the house. One has a king-size bed, whilst the other 3 can be made as either twin/super king-size rooms. At one end of the house is a walk-in shower, with a bathroom with a shower over the bath at the other end. Upstairs there is a galleried games/chill-out area with table football.
Outside to the front of the house, there is a deck and picnic bench, leading onto a spacious fenced grass area, with great views across the loch to the hills beyond.
The entire ground floor is wheelchair friendly, with a ramp to the back door. This floor is entirely level and the walk-in shower is readily accessible.
Dornie is home to the famous Eilean Donan Castle, about 20 minutes walk from the house and a must visit. Dornie Village itself has a well-equipped village shop – Dornie Stores, and 2 excellent pub-restaurants – The Dornie Hotel and Clachan Bar.
This part of the country has an abundance of natural beauty to enjoy, ideal for walking and hillwalking. Relaxing Lochside and riverside walks start from our doorstep and more challenging walks are available within a few miles. You can visit Plockton, Lochcarron and Applecross via the Bealach na Ba. Seal spotting trips are available at Plockton and you can also experience wildlife watching from Kyle.

Talisker Distillery at Carbost in Skye.
Dunvegan Castle in North West Skye.
