Coachingmans Cottage is a charming 330-year-old Welsh stone retreat, situated in the hamlet of Trecastle within the western reaches of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Just 25 yards from the historic Castlecoaching Inn, it offers guests an authentic and welcoming escape, where original character features blend seamlessly with the essentials of contemporary living.

The inviting living area of the cottage features exposed oak beams and deeply comfortable settees that create a warm, welcoming space to relax and unwind. Whether you're curling up with a good book by the log burner or enjoying a film from the extensive movie collection, the atmosphere is one of pure comfort. An oak dresser and shelves are stocked with a wide selection of family-favourite board games, jigsaws and toys, making it easy to enjoy cosy evenings in or keep everyone entertained during rainy days.

For more modern entertainment, a large smart TV with over 200 Sky channels and a Blu-ray DVD player ensures there’s always something to watch after a day spent exploring the surrounding countryside. Logs for the burner are always in good supply, so you can be sure of a warm and cosy stay no matter the season.

The kitchen is impressively well equipped, providing everything needed for cooking and dining at home. You'll find a full range of pots, utensils and crockery, as well as a modern electric ceramic hob, a fan oven with timer and convenient appliances including a dishwasher, washing machine and a large fridge-freezer.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is furnished with solid oak pieces and a luxurious king-size bed dressed in high-end bedding for ultimate comfort. A second bedroom continues the theme of understated elegance with beautiful oak furniture and your choice of either a super king-size bed or two luxury singles, depending on your needs. Both rooms showcase original oak beams, adding rustic charm and each is fitted with a wall-mounted TV and DVD player so you can wind down with a film before drifting off to sleep.

The bathroom includes a full-size bath with an overhead shower and a roof window offers stunning views of the hills and mountains beyond, making even your morning routine feel like a treat.

Just off the kitchen is a small, west-facing garden — a peaceful outdoor space where you can enjoy birdsong and watch the sun set over the hills. A table and chairs are provided for alfresco dining or quiet reflection and there’s also a BBQ with all necessary utensils for outdoor cooking when the weather is right.

To make you feel right at home, a welcome hamper awaits your arrival, set out on the oak dining table. It includes a selection of local Welsh treats such as cheese, wine and traditional Welsh cakes — a thoughtful touch that sets the tone for a relaxing and memorable stay.

We are in an ideal position for exploring the local area. Climb the majestic Pen Y Fan Mountain and take in the breathtaking scenery from the summit. Visit Llangorse multi-activity centre & Lake, the largest glacial lake in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
