Summary

Sands House offers superb self catering accommodation in a peaceful part of Durham. We are set in a lovely position near the river whilst being within walking distance to the city centre. You can visit lots of fantastic attractions in County Durham while staying with us, with the train and bus stations only a 20/25 minute walk away.

Accommodation

Our wonderful two bedroom house sleeps up to 4 people and is perfect for a relaxing holiday. The house is beautifully furnished and has parking to the rear for up to 2 cars.

On the ground floor is a delightful lounge with a TV, pool table, sofa bed and further seating. A fully equipped kitchen comes with a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. You can enjoy some home-cooked dishes on the dining table which seats up to 4 people. A washing machine is available in the understairs cupboard and drying facilities are provided in the outbuilding.

At the rear of the property is a spacious conservatory brimming with light. The main dining table seat 6 and you can unwind on the soft seating. A small WC is also available.

On the first floor are two bedrooms with comfy beds. The double comes with en suite facilities and a twin room can also cater for a camp bed or inflatable bed. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC.

Outside there is a lovely garden with several seating areas dotted around. Patio furniture is provided for essential al fresco dining on a warm, sunny day.

Visiting Durham & Exploring County Durham

We are in a brilliant location for seeing all that Durham has to offer. You are spoilt for choice, with Durham Castle, Durham Cathedral, the Market Place and University buildings only a 20/25 minute walk away. You can also delve in the city’s past by visiting its magnificent manor houses and gardens or discover the walled gardens and 200 acre deer park at Raby Castle. Further attractions to visit include:
