Airidh an Dobhrain offers a stunning remote and isolated location right on the shores of Loch Kilerivagh on Benbecula in the Western Isles. Our only neighbours are the wide variety of sea birds which live on the little islands just across from the cottage. The cottage offers comfortable accommodation for two.

Accommodation

Airidh an Dobhrain is a former cottar's cottage (landworker's cottage). The cottage sleeps 2 and is perfect for a romantic retreat away from it all.

The kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a range of appliances: induction hob, fan assisted oven, toaster, kettle, microwave oven, fridge with small freezer box. There is a washing machine in the laundry room of the adjacent shed. The living room is equipped with a beautiful logburning stove with solid oak fire surround, satellite TV/DVD player (with catch-up TV services) and music system and a bluetooth speaker. The bedroom has a wonderful 4 poster bed with lightweight drapes. There is a pine wardrobe with drawer below. Bed linen and towels are included. The bathroom has a superb walk in shower with high pressure twin head shower unit, underfloor heating and heated towel rail.

Outside we have a laundry room in the shed with washing machine, sink, wet coat/boot storage, dehumidifier and drying rack for drying washing if it’s too wet to hang out. There is also a 3kW Rolec EV charger for the use of guests, an outside tap, logstore, herb boat and gates providing access to the headland and the shore next to the cottage. Many species of birds and other wildlife live in and around the water. Airidh an Dobhrain is the perfect place for birdwatching - keep an eye out for otters too!

Visiting Benbecula and Exploring the Western Isles

The islands are renowned for beautiful beaches. In fact most of the west coast of the Uists is a series of stunning sandy beaches.
