Urgha Chalets

Our two holiday chalets offer comfortable self catering accommodation. Sith Thaimh sleeps up to 4 people and Beag Breagha sleeps up to 2 people :

Sith Thaimh (phonetically She - Hive) has a 4 star rating and is a two bedroom (double and twin) cottage. The name means “peaceful dwelling”. There is a large dining / sitting conservatory with breathtaking sea views where you can relax and get the feeling of being "away from it all" and experience the true feeling of Sith Thaimh!

Beag Breagha (phonetically Beg - Bree - ah) has a 3 star rating and is an adjacent but totally separate chalet with a separate entrance. The name means “small and beautiful”.

Both Chalets could be rented together but are separate entities and could equally accommodate two separate parties. All towels and bed linen are provided in each chalet, and each has a TV and DVD player as well as a radio. There is ample parking and lockable storage space for both properties.

Local Area

Urgha's location, overlooking East Loch Tarbert, offers outstanding views of mountain, moorland, loch and sea so typical of this part of Harris. Walking, bird watching and fishing are available right on our doorstep, and two bicycles are available free of charge. Nearby on the estate fishing is available. Beautiful sandy beaches are also within a short distance, and boat trips are available to Taransay, St Kilda and the Shiants. The Outer Hebrides have many historic places to visit, from the Callanish stones to black houses and brochs. On the islands we have a unique culture and language; this is reflected in the way we have named the chalets. Gaelic is spoken to welcome you. The world famous Harris Tweed takes its name from our island and we have used hand crafted soft furnishings in Tweed and the wool from which it is woven.
