Chestnut Cottage

Summary

Chestnut is the largest of the self catering cottages at Trevalgas. One of three holiday cottages set slightly apart from the others in a tucked away location, high on the side of the valley, but with easy access to all facilities.

Accommodation

It is a two storey holiday cottage with three bedrooms (a double and two twins) and a family bathroom upstairs. The master bedroom has an en suite toilet/shower room. There is another toilet on the ground floor. Outside there is a suntrap garden which has beautiful distant views across the valley towards Stratton. There is a patio with garden furniture and a brick built barbeque.

The best thing about Chestnut is the huge open plan sitting/dining area with the splendid freestanding wood burning stove as its focus. Here the whole family can get together but not be on top of one another. The raised kitchen area means that the cooks aren’t kept away from the rest of the family before mealtimes (and neither are the washer uppers afterwards!)

At the cottage you will find:

A comprehensively equipped kitchen with dishwasher, large capacity fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave.
Towel service – each guest is provided with two towels.
Flat screen TV.
DVD player.
CD player.
Night storage heaters.
For autumn and winter nights – a wood burning stove with a basket of logs.
Allocated parking space.

Visiting Poughill & Exploring Cornwall

At Chestnut, in this tranquil part of Cornwall, the visitor can feel relaxed and far away from life’s troubles. Time and again our guests comment on the sheer joy of being in this peaceful environment with beautiful views, lots of wildlife on the doorstep and sunshine on the patio (sadly not guaranteed).
