Sleeps 1-6
£275 - £385

Summary

Glenquicken Farm is a working farm near Creetown with sheep, horses, hens, pedigree Galloway cattle, working dogs and we also run a trout fishery and Pheasantry located in Wigtownshire in Dumfries & Galloway.

The farm is open for exploration by our guests and we have an abundance of wildlife with deer, hares, pheasants, ducks, buzzards, hawks and numerous other garden birds. We even have our own resident white barn owl.

Our holiday cottages are maintained and furnished to a high standard and all rooms have stunning views of the Galloway countryside.

The Mill

The Mill cottage was once the actual corn-grinding mill for the farm and the original drive shaft (horse driven) is still a feature on the patio.

The Mill is arranged practically upside down from a conventional cottage. Access is upstairs through a large patio door onto the first floor where the living room, kitchen and one twin bedroom is located, and downstairs is a further triple bedroom, bathroom and utility room.

There are adequate drying facilities here if the weather is inclement.

All modern conveniences have been carefully added to the Mill but it still maintains very much its own character and the views from the patio and the windows are exceptional.

The Mill has five permanent beds in two large bedrooms, cots and additional full size folding beds can be supplied on request.

Heating is by oil and there are radiators in every room, supplementary heating is available by electric radiators if required.

There is a full size electric oven and hob fitted and the cottage is also equipped with fridge freezer, washing machine with dyer and large microwave.

TV, DVD and CD player are all supplied.

The Lodge

The Lodge cottage was once the granary and the bothy for the farm and has been carefully and sympathetically converted into a very comfortable cottage containing all modern day conveniences but with an old world character.

Again the views from the cottage are stunning.

The Lodge has four permanent beds in two large bedrooms, cots and additional full size folding beds can be supplied on request.

Heating is by oil and there are radiators in every room, supplementary heating by electric radiators is available if required.

There is a full size oven and hob fitted and the Lodge is also equipped with a fridge freezer, washing machine with dryer and large microwave.

TV, DVD and CD player are all supplied.

Stable Cottage

Stable cottage was, as the name implies once the stable for the farm at Glenquicken and is the latest addition to our accommodation.

The cottage has been sympathetically renovated and extended using all modern building and insulation methods to incorporate a superb sunroom/lounge with breathtaking views across the Loch and onwards to the Machars peninsula.

The kitchen has a raised solid wood roof with open pine beams giving a very light and airy feel to the most modern of a kitchen fully equipped with up to date appliances including full size oven and hob, fridge freezer and automatic washing machine and dryer.

A TV, DVD and CD player are also supplied in the lounge.

The Stable has one very large double bedroom and a fully equipped bathroom with both bath and shower.
