About The Accommodation

The Courtyard accommodates up to 5 people. Ideal for a couple or a family as there is a double and a single bedroom plus a double sofa bed. It is very spacious allowing for free movement for wheelchair users. The bathroom has been adapted with a wheel in shower and cloakroom. A fully fitted kitchen includes all your home-from-home essentials.

Swinton village centre is a short walk away. It is an ideal base when exploring the Scottish Borders.

Etal Castle.
Twizell Castle.
Lake of the Hirsel.
Coldstream Museum.
The attractive town of Kelso, including Floors Castle.

The Scottish Borders has more than its share of interesting places to visit. When you arrive here you will be impressed by the beauty and peacefulness of it all. The River Tweed runs through this beautiful land of rolling hills and the occasional dormant volcanos. Popular with walkers the volcanos include Eildon Hills at Melrose and the Black Hill near Earlston. For the artist with canvas and paint there are endless subjects to capture. Trout and salmon fishing is a major attraction as the River Tweed and its tributaries are excellent for both.

Monks played a major part in the goings on of border folk. They built abbeys to live and work in throughout the borders and there are some fine ruins to see to this day. Roman artefacts and Forts are still being discovered with Trimontium Fort near Newstead being the source of many discoveries. There is a museum at Melrose Abbey where you can see many of the Roman artefacts found.
