Summary

Moorpark Cottages are a pair of luxury clad holiday home that provides self catering accommodation in Barvas on the west side of the Isle of Lewis on the Western Isles. The holiday cottages are on the edge of a stream bank in the settlement of Barvas where you will see rare birds and otters.

Rowan Cottage

This cottage offers a large open plan public area, filled with light from the large picture windows and French doors, painted in soothing natural tones. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, washer/drier, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher for maximum holiday convenience. The living area has a large TV, PS3 for internet access and games, WIFI, CD and DVD blu-ray player. The dining area opens out onto the open decking beyond the French doors, looking out over the stream and moorland to the south, and westward to the sea.

The master bedroom features a king size bed with built in wardrobe space and there is also a large twin room. Both are furnished simply and tastefully in oak. The light, airy bathroom has a bath, WC and hand basin with mirror, plus a large disabled access shower cubicle, finished in sleek Spanish porcelain tiles. There is a shared drying room provides invaluable space for boots, bikes, rods and other outdoor gear. Hot water is provided by solar panels, while the underfloor heating comes from a unique custom designed renewable energy system which draws on the water from the nearby stream.

Willow Cottage

The holiday cottage can sleep up to 4 people in a master bedroom and a twin room. The living areas of the property are open plan and include a well equipped kitchen with oven, washer/drier, fridge/ freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The living room has a TV, DVD blu-ray player, games and a PS3. The dining area leads out onto open decking area which has views of the stream and moorland.

Visiting Barvas & Exploring the Western Isles

Our cottages are in a beautiful spot for exploring Lewis, which has many activities such as fishing, walking, cycling and surfing. There are breathtaking beaches in the area and you can even go whale watching and dolphin spotting. Lots of great attractions are in the local area:
