The Barn at Holwick is a beautiful, traditional self catering property set in the heart of the stunning Teesdale countryside. This charming converted barn comfortably sleeps six guests and is pet friendly, making it a welcoming retreat for families, friends and walkers alike.

At the heart of the barn is a spacious lounge and dining area, where a cosy wood-burning stove serves as the central feature. The solid pine floor and exposed stone wall add warmth and character, while three generously sized sofas provide plenty of space to relax. The dining area includes a table with six chairs and there's an additional breakfast table in the kitchen. A selection of books, maps and a TV are also available, perfect for quiet evenings in.

The well-appointed kitchen is bright and inviting, thanks to the addition of double French doors that open onto the garden and allow in plenty of natural light. The kitchen offers everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a tumble dryer, automatic washing machine, electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and a full range of cutlery and utensils. With stunning views stretching across the garden, drumlins, and distant hills, it’s a delightful space to enjoy breakfast or prepare meals.

There are three double-sized bedrooms in total, each featuring twin beds, allowing the property to sleep six guests with ease. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, while the third is conveniently located on the ground floor, making it easily accessible. The property also includes a light and airy family bathroom, complemented by a separate shower room with a walk-in single shower, toilet and wash basin.

The Barn is located on a quiet lane with no through traffic, ending at the Earl of Strathmore’s shooting lodge. At the rear of the property, a large lawned garden provides a peaceful outdoor space. A shallow stream runs along the bottom of the garden, its gentle trickle adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Beside the garden is a picturesque log store, which has even become a haven for local wildlife. Nearby, the large shed with covered decking offers a lovely spot to enjoy early evenings, with sun chairs available for guests' use. There is also ample parking space for up to five cars.

The hamlet of Holwick, located just three miles from Middleton-in-Teesdale on the south side of the river, is a peaceful cluster of about thirty houses at the end of a quiet country lane. It’s a place where tranquillity and natural beauty come together, offering the perfect setting for a relaxing countryside escape.
