The Flat at Glencaple offers cosy, ground-floor accommodation for two in the heart of the village, blending early 19th-century charm with modern comforts.
Renovated to a high standard, it features a warm living room with a wood-burning stove, efficient electric heating and lovely riverside views from both the living room and bedroom. Towels and bed linen are provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen which includes microwave, coffee maker and washing machine. Outside there is a small south facing back garden with garden furniture.
Located on the Burns and Solway Coast Heritage Trails, it’s just a few miles from the Caerlaverock Wildfowl and Wetlands Reserve, where guests can enjoy seasonal sightings of barnacle geese, wildfowl, otters, and even porpoises and seals in the river. This nature lover’s paradise is also ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, and sightseeing, with beaches only a short drive away and Caerlaverock Castle nearby. Just around the corner, Glencaple’s popular Boathouse café and The Nith hotel offer dining year-round, while Dumfries boasts standout restaurants, including the acclaimed Home and The Globe.
