The Sail Loft
Galmpton, Brixham, Devon
Summary
The Sail Loft is a beautiful newly refurbished South Devon holiday let, finished to a high spec and providing extreme comfort for a family or group of friends of 6, with 3 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one en suite with bath and shower. It has an open plan living area, with a dining table and 2 leather sofas, TV and fully equipped kitchen complete with a dish washer and washing machine for that little extra bit of luxury.
The Sail Loft is located 3 miles upstream from Dartmouth, it benefits from stunning views of the River Dart from the master bedroom and decking. The surrounding countryside provides numerous walks along the River Dart and Torbay coast perfect for dogs and exploring the beauty the South Hams has to offer. The property is set conveniently located on the edge of Galmpton village, near Brixham, with a great local pub, serving good food and local ales, a butchers and village store, all only a 5 minute walk away.
There are many beautiful sandy beaches a short drive from the property which are perfect for a sunny day and a spot of swimming in the sea. A short walk from the Sail Loft is Greenway Estate, summer house of Agatha Christie, now a National Trust Property, with beautiful gardens which we highly recommend to visit. Greenway Quay, is just under a mile from the Sail Loft and offers a variety of ferry services, to Dartmouth, Totnes or across the river to Dittisham, where there is a brilliant waterside pub and fresh local fish cafe. Dartmouth and Totnes are beautiful, historic towns which offer a variety of shops, boutiques, delis, pubs, cafes and restaurants galore to visit.
The Steam Train stations Greenway Hault and Churston are both a 10 minute walk from The Sail Loft holiday accommodation, here you can catch the steam train to Dartmouth, Paignton or Torquay. There are also a vsariety of waterside sports on tap on the river from Kayacking, canoeing or simply hiring a small boat for day trips up the river to one of the riverside pubs or even the famous Sharpham Vineyard. The whole area is extremely dog friendly, and pets are welcome on public transport and in most pubs & cafes in the area.
The property is perfect for a family holiday, or holiday with friends, great for walking, boating & exploring the delights the South Hams and Torbay have to offer. There are numerous interesting tourist attractions close by, and many things to entertain the children and adults alike. We are always right next door in our reception and very happy to advise or help plan your days out.
