The Miller’s Cottage at Hele, Ilfracombe offers comfortable self catering accommodation, adjacent to our unique 16th Century working watermill. Located just 5 mins walk from Hele beach, our cottage is ideal for a family getaway, close to attractions and Exmoor.

Accommodation

Our cosy cottage sleeps up to 4 people (one double and one twin bedded room). The kitchen is well equipped with a view of the mill leat where you may spot dippers nest building and feeding. The lounge has comfy seating and a wood burner.

The cottage is located next to our award winning tearoom. The teagarden is available for your private use when the tearoom is closed (before 11am and after 6pm). A complimentary cream tea is included for bookings of one week or longer.

The mill is open for you to look around and children can have a go at milling flour in the hand quern. There is also a 10 min information film.

Visiting Hele & Exploring Devon

Stroll down to Hele Bay which boasts a part sand, part shingle beach, popular for swimming, kayaking and coasteering.

Visit nearby Ilfracombe, perhaps via the coastal path (45 mins) and stroll around the harbour or see the exhibits on display at the museum and The Ilfracombe Aquarium.

Nearby is Chambercombe Manor, a historic haunted Manor House; Watermouth Castle with its attractions and fun park; the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.

Further attractions to visit include the Southwest Coastal path, long sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde (25 mins), The Big Sheep (45 mins) and Milky Way (45 mins).

Rates: From £275 to £975 per week depending on season. Short breaks available out of school holidays.
Changeover day is a Saturday in both cottages and from 23rd July to 2nd September bookings of 7 nights only.
A complimentary cream tea from our award winning tearoom is included with bookings of a week or more.
Maximum of 4 people.
Children are welcome.
