We are the perfect retreat for family and friends who want a break away. From the manor you can enjoy many wonderful hikes which start from the front door. It is the sort of place where you long to pull on your boots or jump on a horse and head for the horizon.

About Blackslade Manor

This historic 400 year old manor house has been beautifully decorated and furnished throughout and enjoys the best of both old and new. Facilities include:

There are 5 min bedrooms (wo with doubles, three with twins), two storeys and an attic, linked by a medieval stone stair). A further small bedroom has fold out beds for babies or small children.

Outside there are lawns for children to tumble on, paddocks all around and a table and chairs for the setting sun. After a day fixing tees to greens (golf is close) or building castles in the sand, how gratifying to come home to fresh flowers, crisp linen and fluffy white towels.

Local Area

This important Manor has been in existence since early medieval times. It is situated half way up the hill in an isolated and quiet position, yet is within easy reach of local amenities. The views across Dartmoor and Widecombe are among the best in Devon. The property is set within its own grounds of about 30 acres and has direct access to the moor, some of which belongs to the property. What's more, Widecombe, home to the Rugglestone Inn, is a ten-minute walk downhill – a babbling brook, beer from the cask and chips to die for.

Rates: From £1150 - £2450 per week depending on season.
Minimum stay: 4 nights weekdays & weekends. 7 nights in high season.
Short breaks available.
Maximum of 10 people.
Children are welcome. We can fit up to 4 babies/toddlers in 2 of the rooms, on top of the 14 adults staying at the property.
Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement - £35 per week.
