Buckland House

Sleeps 14 from £1350 - £3100. The entrance porch leads to the main hall off which are the principal reception rooms. There is a south facing sitting room that has large windows overlooking the gardens. The sitting room has a wood burner, Freeview TV, radio and a CD player. There is also a second lounge that has an open log fire, TV, video and DVD player.

A wood panelled den with bar billiards and piano leads to the large conservatory overlooking the rear garden and ponds. The conservatory is furnished as a room to relax in or can be used for breakfast or dining there is also a wood burning stove for the colder months. There are steps outside that lead to a raised patio overlooking the first of the duck ponds and extensive rear garden.

The large slate flag floored traditional farmhouse kitchen has everything you will need for your self catering break including a modern gas Rangemaster with electric ovens, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and food processor. The kitchen has plenty of storage and cupboard space and a peninsula unit divides the kitchen from the eating area which has a large dining table with seating for twelve, Welsh dresser, high chair and TV. Adjacent is a laundry/drying room with Butler sink, two washing machines, tumble dryer, airing line and ironing board.

There is a ground floor studio apartment that has a small kitchen area, a sitting area with TV and DVD player, a double bedroom with en suite shower room and views over the duck pond and garden. Suitable for partially disabled.

Upstairs you will find all of the bedrooms where there is a luxury master double room with two beds that can be either two singles or they can be clipped together to provide a king size bed. This master room has an en suite with a power shower over the bath, a wash basin and WC. The second luxury bedroom has a double bed and a luxury shower room with double sized shower, wash basin and WC. The third and fourth double bedrooms have twin beds and fitted furniture with views over the garden. Bedroom five has full size twin bunk beds with courtyard views. Bedroom six is a double bedroom with fitted furniture and vanity basin. The main bathroom has a bath with power shower over, wash basin and WC. All bathrooms have large illuminated mirrors, heated towel rails and shaver points.

Outside the self catering accommodation there is an enclosed private garden that spreads over one acre and offers private parking for up to six cars. There is a patio area and plenty of garden furniture.

Cherry Cottage

Sleeps 8 from £480 - £1200. Cherry is the last holiday cottage to be built at Buckland Court. The entrance of the holiday cottages leads to a cloakroom where there is a WC, shaver point and wash basin. Opposite the cloakroom there is a living room with a three seater sofa, Freeview TV, DVD player, video and a dining table with chairs.

The kitchen/diner is beamed and fully fitted offering everything you will need including a gas hob, electric double oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer wash a washer/dryer. There is also a dining area that has a large pine table that seats up to eight.

The staircase from the kitchen leads up to the landing off which there are four bedrooms. The large master bedroom has a double bed and en suite shower room with power shower, wash basin and WC. There is also another double bedroom with an en suite shower room, a twin bedded room and a room with full size bunk beds. The main bathroom has a bath, overhead shower, wash basin and WC.

Outside the holiday cottage there is a gravel area with bench seats, stone walls, shrubs and flower borders. There is allocated parking space for two cars within the courtyard itself with additional spaces behind Buckland House stables.

Local Area

Buckland is only ten minutes away from the Blue Flag beach at Blackpool Sands and about twenty minutes from a surfing beach at Bantham as well as eleven of the best natural beaches to be found anywhere in the UK. There is easy access to the South West Coast Path for walking and the wilderness of Dartmoor for walking, climbing and riding.

The South Hams offers something for everyone; the area is a Mecca for rambling, bird watching, swimming, surfing, horse riding, golf and those interested in fishing, boating, sailing and windsurfing.

Buckland Court is located in a tranquil sheltered valley surrounded by delightful countryside halfway between two of the West country's most popular sailing centres of Salcombe and the river Dart and one and a half miles inland from the historic village of Slapton, with its world famous Slapton Ley nature reserve and three mile beach that stretches from Torcross to Strete Gate.
