Beech and Birch Cottages are centrally located in the heart of the picturesque village of Hartington near Buxton in Derbyshire. The holiday cottages are in an ideal base from which to explore the Peak District National Park. The cottages are approximately 200 yards from the local village shops, Post Office and Inns.

Beech Cottage comfortably sleeps up to seven guests, featuring a king-size bedroom and a single room on the first floor, along with a family room on the second floor that includes a double bed and two single beds, ideal for family use. The ground floor houses a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Outside, guests can enjoy a lawned garden complete with a table, chairs and a BBQ, perfect for relaxing and dining in the fresh air.

Birch Cottage also accommodates up to seven guests, featuring a king-size bedroom and a single room on the first floor, the single room includes a double bed with access from one side only. On the second floor, there is a family room with a king-size bed, a single bed and an en-suite basin and WC, making it best suited for family members. The main bathroom is located on the first floor and includes a bath with an overhead shower. Outside, the cottage offers a lawned garden complete with a table, chairs and a BBQ, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

As locals, Fred having been born and raised in Hartington, we’re happy to share our knowledge of the area and offer advice on the best activities and places to visit. The cottages are ideally located for exploring the stunning Derbyshire countryside and the Peak District, with a variety of scenic walking routes starting right from the doorstep. Popular trails include Wolfscote Dale, Dove Dale, Biggin Dale and the peaceful Pillsbury Hollow, all offering unforgettable views and tranquil surroundings. The area is also perfect for cycling and discovering nearby historic landmarks such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, making our cottages a great base for both outdoor adventures and cultural days out.
