Tarnside Holiday Lodges in Farlam offers self catering accommodation set in a tranquil countryside setting near Brampton. They offer outstanding views over the Tarn and wild bird feeds. The two lodges are only 10 miles from Carlisle and close to a range of attractions in Cumbria.
Our lodges are nestled in a unique location, home of the 1979 Grand National Hero Maurice Barnes and his wife Anne. The farm has 180 acres of land, plus sheep and racehorses.
Our two lodges are built from local stone/cedarwood and offer views over the Tarn and to the Lake District Fells. Both cottages have living areas with cosy log burners. We offer reliable WiFi and the option to use a Firestick, available upon request at check-in. This allows you to access your own Amazon and Netflix accounts during your stay at Tarnside. A well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, hob, electric steamer and sandwich maker. We even provide a delightful complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates for your arrival. Two bedrooms are available in each cottage, an upstairs double and a ground floor twin. The bathrooms boast large shower cubicles with power showers. All bed linen and towels are included.
We are only 40 minutes from Keswick and just 10 minutes from Hadrian's Wall. Lovely local walks and places to visit are all around and Brampton is a lovely old market town just 3 miles away. The local pub is The Blacksmiths, Talkin, only 1 mile along the road. Attractions to visit include:
Lanercost Priory.
Naworth Castle.
Talkin Tarn Country Park.
Solway Aviation Museum.
