Stable Cottage offers self catering accommodation in the peaceful hamlet of Stanger. We are halfway between Cockermouth and Lorton in West Cumbria, set in a scenic countryside location.
We are sitauted on a farm at the end of a no-through lane, with the River Cocker flowing by. We enjoy countryside views, footpaths and a bridgeway are right on our doorstep.
This self-contained barn conversion comes with a first-floor open plan area with a spacious lounge, kitchen and dining area. There are two ground floor bedrooms: a double and a twin. Both rooms share a bathroom with a small utility area. Additionally, there is a WC on the first floor.
Heating is providing by storage heaters, whilst an open fire in the lounge will keep you warm in the winter months. Hot water is provided by solar panels back up by an immersion heater.
Seasonal farm produce (vegetables and fruit) is available, whilst doorstep milk delivery can also be arranged.
Stanger offers a great pathway for exploring the Lorton Valley, Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere. The Western lakes of Ennerdale and Wastwater are within easy reach, a great place for a picnic on a warm summer’s day. The market town of Cockermouth is two miles away and home to an array of cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. Attractions to visit include:
