The Old Inn offers excellent self catering accommodation in Pentewan and dates from the 18th Century. Our property near Saint Austell now offers modern accommodation and is a great base for exploring Cornwall.

Accommodation


Our property was originally an alehouse for visiting sailors to buy their beer brewed on the premises. It is now offer high quality accommodation to suit all your needs.

There is a double bedded room with a luxury bed with the a comfortable Hypnos mattress and boasts views over the valley. The twin bedded room enjoys views over the valley and a bunk bedroom has comfy solid bunks. The upstairs bathroom has a WC, basin and modern easy-to-use shower. The downstairs cloakroom has a WC and washbasin.

The kitchen is fully fitted with an astonishing range of crockery and appliances: washer/drier, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, cooker, kettle and toaster.

The living area has an open hearth, wooden beams, horse brasses, old pewter beer mugs, oak dining table and easy chairs for all six occupants. There’s TV, toasting forks and a cupboard full of games, books and guides to the locality. Fast Wi-Fi internet is now available at no extra charge.

Our small terrace overlooks a quiet leafy valley that looks down to the sea. There is a picnic table for al fresco meals and a BBQ under a shady tree.

We have a parking space out the front of the cottage surrounded by some flower beds and a terrace, exclusively available for occupants of The Old Inn – for one car (two small cars at a push). There is a free car park in the village for additional cars.

Pentewan has plenty to explore. One day you can see a stunning garden or visit a museum or gallery the next. If you fancy something more active you can go cliff top walking, cycling or even take a boat trip. Caerhays Castle & Gardens is a 19th Century castle designed by John Nash and set in 60 acres of woodland gardens. St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre has been brewing beer for more than 100 years and offers tours throughout the day. You can enjoy the interactive museum which tells the story of local pubs, beers, wines and spirits and the Cornish families who created them. A variety of attractions are in the local area, including:

The Lost Gardens Heligan.
Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre.
Pentewan Beach.
Caerhays Castle.
Pinetum Gardens.
