Accommodation

There is an array of fabulous properties to choose from, all in a breath-taking countryside setting with private woodland, meadows, a river and a large lake. Based within a converted 18th Century barn are four cottages, whilst the detached 18th Century Farm Cottage and two wonderful, modern wooden lodges are also available. Oaktree and Kingfisher cottages are perfect for couples, whilst Bluebell and Squirrel each sleep up to 4 people. Otter and Owl Lodges each sleep 6 guests and Farm Cottage comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests. All the properties include relaxing living areas with a TV/DVD player, a well-equipped kitchen, shower rooms and comfortable bedrooms with the luxurious bed linen.

Farm Cottage - Sleeps 7:

This fantastic property is brimming with character and offers lots of period features. A cosy sitting room comes with a toasty wood burner and exposed beams. The kitchen is great for sharing meals around the farmhouse table which seats up to 8 people. On the ground floor is a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed and exposed inglenook fireplace and there is a shower room/WC. Up the main staircase are a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a pretty twin room. These rooms share a family bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Up a separate staircase is a single room, which also has a pull-out bed to sleep an eighth person, if required.

Otter Lodge - Sleeps 6:

This luxurious lodge offers stunning views of the River Fowey. A spacious open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area will suit all your needs. The living area is light and airy, with French doors opening onto steps and a private patio and garden, offering fabulous views of the river below. The kitchen is well-equipped and the dining area comfortably accommodates 6 people. Three bedrooms are available: a king with ensuite, a king room with a walk-in wardrobe and a twin room. Additionally, there is a family shower room with WC and a large walk-in shower.

Owl Lodge - Sleeps 6

This stunning lodge sits on the hillside and boasts spectacular views over the Glynn Valley. There are 3 attractive bedrooms: a king with ensuite, a king room with walk-in wardrobe and a twin room. Additionally, there is a family shower room with WC and a large walk-in shower. A large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen is fitted to the highest standards. The living area is light and airy, with French doors opening onto a balcony offering outstanding views of the valley. The kitchen is well-equipped and the dining table seats 6 people. There is also a private south-facing patio area.

Oak Tree Cottage - Sleeps 2

This charming cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway. There is a cosy double room that offers picturesque views of the valley. A lovely open plan living/dining area has comfy seating and the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. There is a separate shower room/WC.

Kingfisher Cottage - Sleeps 2

This beautifully furnished cottage is great for a couple and comes with a double room looking towards the Glynn Valley, a well-equipped kitchen and a shower room/WC. The delightful sitting/dining room is south facing and takes advantage of the views.

Squirrel Cottage - Sleeps 4

This lovely cottage is perfect for a family and comes with both twin and double bedrooms which share a shower room/WC. The relaxing sitting room has pleasant views over a lawned area and the separate dining kitchen has a table that seats 4 and a window looking towards the garden. A BBQ and picnic bench is just outside the property.

Bluebell Cottage – Sleeps 4

This excellent property suits a family or group looking for somewhere peaceful to stay. Bedrooms consist of a twin and a double room. There’s a spacious, comfortable sitting room with a dining table and chairs. A small entrance hall leads to a well-equipped kitchen and then through to a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a shower room/WC. The cottage has its own BBQ and picnic bench just outside the door.

As a guest at Rivermead, you will have exclusive access to the stunning grounds which offer rolling meadows, mature natural woodland, streams, a lake and river access. From April until mid-December guests can enjoy trout and salmon fishing on the River Fowey. There is a lot of wildlife on offer and guests often see the red deer, rabbits, squirrels and a host of different birds. If you’re lucky enough, you may spot the resident otters and kingfishers.

Visiting Two Waters Foot & Exploring Cornwall

Rivermead is perfectly situated for visiting all parts of Cornwall and this part of the county has so many places to visit. Gorgeous beaches such as Lantic Bay, Watergate and Constantine are a short drive away, as are the charming villages of Polperro, Looe, Lerryn, Lostwithiel and Charlestown. There are gardens such as Lanhydrock, Heligan and the Eden Project to explore and wonderful walks along the South West Coast Path or across Bodmin Moor. Golf courses can be enjoyed at Lanhydrock, Lostwithiel, Looe, Carlyon Bay, St Enodoc, St Mellion (championship course) and Trevose. You could also:

Take the ferry from Polruan to Fowey.
Take a trip back in time in Bodmin Jail.
Follow the Fowey to Golitha Falls and enjoy a milkshake at Inkies Smokehouse.
Talk to the animals at Newquay Zoo.
Walk around Colliford Lake and try to spot the eagle.
