Summary

Silver Birch is a recently and stylishly renovated cottage located in a quiet spot on the edge of the market town of Llandovery, in the historic Welsh county of Carmarthenshire. It offers a peaceful retreat with easy access to both the town's amenities and the stunning surrounding countryside.

Accommodation

The lounge is warm and inviting, with large sofas, beanbags and a gas wood-effect fire creating a cosy atmosphere. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with a breakfast bar and all the pots, utensils and crockery you might need. A stable door leads from the kitchen into a generously sized dining room, which features a large table with six chairs and a sideboard stocked with dining accessories.

The first bedroom, named Cwtch (Welsh for "cuddle"), includes a king-size bed that can be converted into twin 2’6” singles. It is beautifully decorated and has a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a double shower, hand basin and WC. The second bedroom, called Cariad (Welsh for "love"), features a double bed, tasteful décor and another stylish en-suite with a double shower, hand basin and WC.

At the front of the cottage is a quiet road leading to Myddfai, while the rear garden offers a spacious, private and secure outdoor area. Completely enclosed with high gates, it's ideal for both children and pets. A large patio area provides a perfect spot to relax in the shade of the Silver Birch tree, the cottage’s namesake.

Visiting the Area

Llandovery itself lies on the A40, south of the Cambrian Mountains and just north of the Carmarthen Fans and Black Mountains. It's also on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, making it an excellent base for walkers and cyclists. The west Wales coast is just an hour’s drive away, with beautiful beaches and coastal walks to explore. The town offers a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafés, takeaways and local shops including a butcher, bakery, greengrocer and supermarket, all within a short walk from the cottage. Rich in history, Llandovery features ancient castle ruins, a statue of Prince Llewelyn, a heritage and tourist information centre, a craft centre and a railway station on the scenic mid Wales line.
