Holmhead Cottage is a cosy two-bedroom retreat set within two acres of grounds, surrounded by trees and forest. Built in the early 1700s, it offers a peaceful and characterful setting, ideal for a relaxing countryside escape.

The cottage accommodates up to four guests, with a master double bedroom and a second bedroom featuring twin beds. The bathroom includes a shower, hand basin and toilet, while the fully fitted kitchen is equipped to a high standard with all essential crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, along with basic provisions such as salt and pepper. The comfortable living space is complemented by modern conveniences including TV and WiFi.

Guests will find everything needed for a comfortable stay, with freshly laundered bed linen and towels provided, as well as electricity included in the price. The cottage also comes stocked with matches and plenty of logs, along with tea towels, washing-up liquid, hand soap and cleaning products. Additional amenities include a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a highchair if required. Outside, there is free parking and extra storage available in a clean shed, ideal for skis, luggage, or other equipment. For quieter evenings, a selection of board games is also provided.

Holmhead Cottage is accessed from the main A97 via an unmade road, shared with just one neighbouring property, ensuring privacy and tranquillity. It also serves as an excellent base for exploring Scotland, with the surrounding area rich in history and attractions, including castles, National Trust properties, Balmoral Castle, the nearby Royal church and Royal Lochnagar Distillery. Visitors can also enjoy scenic drives such as the famous Queen Victoria Trail. Other attractions close to Aboyne include:
