Surrounding the cottage, three terraces ascend the hill, each offering progressively more stunning views. Along with a barbecue area equipped with ample seating and even a fish pond, the highest point boasts a 'sitooterie' (a wooden summerhouse), where guests can relax and admire the charmingly uneven rooftops of the historic conservation area, with the sea horizon stretching out in the distance. The Old Police Station - Sleeps 4

This newly developed holiday home is designed on a split level, taking advantage of its position adjacent to the expansive Wally Green park and the footpath along the old railway line. It comfortably accommodates 4 guests, featuring the living space at street level and accommodation including a king-size double bedroom with an ensuite and a twin bedroom on the lower level. The outdoor area is equally impressive, with a beautiful rockery garden atop the roofs of two sheds, a patio space and a solar-powered fountain. Both cottages benefit from Wi-Fi and are dog friendly.
The Area
Portsoy is a charming and hospitable small town that punches above its weight in terms of activity and community spirit. It boasts a remarkable sense of unity, evident in how the community collectively manages the caravan park, the 4-star rated Salmon Bothy museum, the Sail Loft Bunkhouse and the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, all for the benefit of the town itself. The town revolves around its two historic harbours from the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, areas that have retained their character over the years: they have served as the backdrop for the recent "Whisky Galore" remake and the latest season of "Peaky Blinders." While the fishing industry may have evolved, the sight of the town’s two St Ayles skiffs launching from the harbour is still common.Portsoy offers exceptional walking paths. There is dramatic coastline and places to visit such as Findlater Castle, Sunnyside Beach and Cullen. To the east, the Coastguard’s path offers stunning views across to Troups’ Head. Between the cottage and the harbours lies the Shore Inn, alongside excellent food eateries.
