Achue Croft Cottage is a traditional 19th Century croft cottage offering superb self catering accommodation located in Airdens. Fully renovated in the 1990s, Achue has everything you would expect of a 21st Century self-catering holiday home, including beds for up to six in a lovely part of the Highlands.

Accommodation

Our stunning cottage is tranquil and relaxing, making us the perfect place to retreat to. Downstairs, there is a comfortable sitting room with seating for 6, a TV, DVD player and music centre. The kitchen in the holiday cottage is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, and mixer. All crockery, cutlery and dishes are supplied.

There is a separate dining area that seats 6. The sun lounge allows you to sit comfortably and enjoy the stunning views. The downstairs bedroom has a king-size double bed and en suite toilet and shower. Upstairs are 2 more bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin. There is a bathroom and toilet.

A highchair and cot is available.

There is an enclosed garden with a south-facing patio. Parking is available for 2 or 3 cars and the holiday cottage is 200m off the road. You are welcome to explore the surrounding fields and hills but this is at your own risk: please leave gates as you find them.

Visiting Airdens & Exploring Sutherland

The self catering cottage is a great base for exploring the Northern Highlands – we are 1 hour from Inverness, 2 hours from John O’Groats and 1 hour from the rugged hills of the west coast. Close at hand, there are walks through woodland, along the shore at Dornoch or over the hills. There are opportunities for salmon, trout or sea fishing. Golf is available at Royal Dornoch (20 minutes away) or at any of the other 21 courses in the area: the delightful 9 hole Bonar course is only 2 miles away. There are several mountain biking courses in the area and lots of quiet country roads to suit cyclists of all ages and experiences. Great attractions to visit include:

Kyle of Sutherland.
Falls of Shin.
Struie.
