River Cottage is a Grade II listed barn conversion offering high quality self catering accommodation on the banks of the River Vyrnwy, within the Shropshire village of Melverley.
The cottage enjoys fishing rights on the river and is adjacent to the historic 15th century St. Peter's Church, one of the oldest timber framed churches in England and Wales.
Set in a fabulous rural location, enjoy the peace and tranquillity that River Cottage offers with an abundance of local wildlife and natural beauty, or use it as the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
River Cottage
Our beautiful holiday cottage is currently being lovingly refurbished. The cottage has Wi-Fi, its own garden area with patio and ample parking.It has two bedrooms, one comprising a double bed and one with two singles, a bathroom with rain shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge/dining area. The cottage has central heating throughout.
Bedding and towels are provided.
The cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 people and pets are welcome by arrangement*
The cottage is unsuitable for young children (due to its close proximity to the river)

Things to Do
Why not visit the historic towns of Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Welshpool, which are all within a 25 minute drive of the cottage.All three boast a rich history and play host to a great selection of independent boutiques, gift shops and galleries. And with many tea rooms, cafes and coffee shops selling home-made delicacies, cakes and local produce, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
There’s something for everyone, from Folk Festivals to the world’s oldest Flower Show, or if you’re feeling more adventurous why not visit Shrewsbury prison and take on their ‘Hole Escape Room’ or their ‘Prison Break Escape Game’ !
