Summary
Rose Cottage is a traditional Northumbrian holiday cottage set in a beautiful rural area. We are in a fabulous location, surrounded by hills and farmland in the tiny hamlet of High Humbleton and at 400 feet above sea level. The cottage boasts picturesque views of the Glendale Valley to one side and the Cheviot Hills on the other. The Northumberland National Park boundary runs just by the top lane.
About Rose Cottage
The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to four guests in the main house. The sitting room has an open fire which is a perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day exploring the area.The cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other is small and can be used as a single or twin. There is a sunroom with a dining table looking over the valley and a modern kitchen and bathroom.
We have refurbished a stone Bothy in the garden, which has a double bed, en-suite, comfy seating and a deck.
Rose Cottage has a large safe garden with off-road parking and well-behaved pets are welcome.
The main house has reasonable disabled access, all on one level except 4 steps to the larger bedroom. Linen, towels, logs, and coal are provided.
Bookings are from Friday to Friday.

Rose Cottage is ideal for exploring all the major tourist attractions in the area. There is easy access to Alnwick, Berwick, Edinburgh, Newcastle, the Roman Wall and the Keilder reservoir. The unmatched Heritage Coast with its huge empty beaches at Bamburgh, Embleton and Alnmouth are within easy reach.For any visitors to Northumberland, a visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a must do outing. Found just off the Northumberland coast near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lindisfarne, meaning Holy Island, is a picturesque island of great historical significance. The beautiful county of Northumberland has some of the most stunning walks in the country. Rose Cottage is ideal as a base for couples, families and business people to take advantage of the wide range of available walking routes. You can explore gentle coastal walks to more arduous journeys over the Cheviot Hills. The Cheviot Hills are right on Rose Cottage’s doorstep, providing the ultimate in early morning or post-dinner walks! St Cuthberts way is one mile away.
