Victorian Rectory built in 1870 in the uphill area of Lincoln. Set amongst mature gardens and trees, it is 5 minutes easy walk from the Cathedral and Bailgate area. A peaceful oasis in the heart of the city. The house has been converted into self-contained apartments, each different in design displaying an abundance of original features and lovingly restored pinewood. Most have spectacular views of the Cathedral. St Clements Old Rectory is superbly situated down a quiet lane, with ample parking and a bus stop 200 yards away. Visitors can relax or browse in the many antique and book shops or simply enjoy shopping in the small traditional ones. There are several pubs and restaurants to suit every taste.

Accommodation

Apartment 1: Sleeps 2. The pine kitchen has an integral electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster and microwave oven. There is a circular dining table with rattan chairs. The room has all the necessary cooking utensils and plenty of storage space. The apartment has a pleasant shower room with washbasin, shaver socket and WC. It retains the original wood panelling and quarry tile floor. The large bed-sitting room has twin beds, two leather club chairs, pine dressing table and wardrobe & a colour television. The room features a cast iron Victorian iron fireplace which is complemented by an abundance of polished pinewood. Large windows afford views across the front lawns to the Cathedral.

Apartment 3: Sleeps 2. The large double bedded room enjoys excellent views of the gardens and Cathedral. The room features stripped pine wardrobe and chest of drawers, complemented by the Victorian chesterfield sofa and polished iron fireplace. The room has a colour television. The pine table and elbow chairs are arranged to overlook the front garden, tennis courts and the Cathedral. The ensuite shower room includes washbasin, shaver socket and WC. The compact kitchen / diner has an integral oven and hob, refrigerator, microwave and washer dryer. An electric kettle and toaster are provided.

Apartment 4: Sleeps 2. The double bedroom is ensuite with washbasin, WC and separate shower cubicle. Plenty of storage space is provided in the large built-in stripped pine wardrobe. The central feature of the room is the original stone fireplace. Both rooms provide excellent views of the front lawns and Cathedral. The day room has a large pine table and two-grandfather chairs, chest of drawers, colour television and leather chesterfield sofa. The farmhouse style kitchen overlooks the front lawns, neighbouring tennis courts and Cathedral. Facilities include stainless steel sink, integral oven and hob, refrigerator, microwave and washer dryer. All the usual appliances are provided including electric kettle and toaster.

Apartment 5: Sleeps 2. The apartment is light and airy and facing east it enjoys the morning sun although there are blinds for those who start the day more gently. The double-bedded room has en suite toilet and wash hand basin: there is also a built in shower room and wardrobe. Overhead cupboards provide storage for luggage and bulky items. There are bedside reading lights and dimmable central lighting. A small lobby separates the bedroom and day room. The room retains its Victorian pine cupboards and an iron fireplace has been reinstated. For relaxation there are two easy chairs, coffee table, colour television, radio.

Apartment 6: Sleeps 2. This is a second floor apartment with a separate kitchen and breakfast bar. The double bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there is also a built in wardrobe.

St Clements Old Rectory is a great location for holidays, sightseeing, exploring Lincoln and Lincolnshire. Walkers and cyclists are welcome. Ideal for visiting patients in hospital, students at university or friends and family.
