In Gaelic, the word for ‘shore’ is claddach and Claddach House, a traditional stone-built croft house situated in the Borve valley is perfectly named. Just a short walk down the garden path, across the single-track road and through about 200 metres of machair grassland brings you to the Estate’s secluded Borve beach. From there, you can enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean and the ‘Castaway’ Isle of Taransay.

Claddach House has a light, nautical-inspired interior, with panelled walls that evoke a touch of Cape Cod style. While the charm and solid feel of the traditional Hebridean croft house have been retained, the home has been updated with modern fixtures and amenities throughout. Ideal for families or couples, the spacious ground floor includes a large dining room, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, and a cosy sitting room perfect for relaxing by the fire in the evenings.

The house accommodates six guests, offering two double bedrooms—one of which is en-suite—and one twin bedroom. The en-suite room can also be converted into a twin if needed. Additional facilities include a first-floor bathroom, a separate cloakroom, and a utility room.

Claddach House is fully maintained as a self-catering residence and features a Freeview satellite TV system, a high-quality kitchen with both gas and electric hobs, a dishwasher, oil-fired central heating, and radiators throughout. The utility room includes a washing machine and tumble dryer. Wireless internet is available, and a wood-burning stove is provided with fuel supplied.

Available year-round for weekly bookings, the house offers arrivals on Thursdays for a minimum stay of seven nights.
