Summary

Barncastle, built on the site of a Medieval Castle, is a large, recently converted Cotswold stone barn nestling in Pitchcombe and within the beautiful Painswick valley and owning some outstanding countryside views over the Cotswolds. The barn provides self catering accommodation close to the lovely Cotswold towns of Painswick and Stroud in Gloucestershire.

About Barncastle

The self catering barn will sleep 10 people comfortably, with cot and highchair available on request. There is ample parking at the front of the property. The barn is accessed through either the oak door to the left, or the large glass doors in the centre.

Ground Floor

There is a sitting room with oak flooring and French doors that open to the outside. It is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, a comfortable sofa and additional seating. The first bedroom has oak flooring and is furnished in a classical style, offering a double bed, chest of drawers, and wardrobe. A second bedroom includes two single beds, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. There are two bathrooms, each equipped with a shower, basin and WC. The stunning dining hall, viewable from a breathtaking oak gallery, boasts an oak floor and a large Cotswold stone inglenook fireplace, with a dining table and chairs to seat ten. The beautiful, fully-fitted kitchen features a traditional stone floor and is equipped with a large American-style fridge, range cooker and dishwasher. Additionally, there is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

First Floor

The first floor features a spacious, beamed galleried living room with an open fire, oak flooring and a comfortable sofa. There is a bedroom with a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom, complete with a freestanding clawfoot bath, basin and WC. Another bedroom offers a classical-style double bed, while a second bathroom includes a shower, bath, basin and WC.

Visiting Pitchcombe & Exploring Gloucestershire

There is a wide variety of traditional and modern pubs and restaurants nearby and many activities can be catered for locally: riding, fishing, golfing and dry slope skiing.
