The Barn offers fantastic self catering accommodation in Lunedale. Based in a tranquil countryside setting near Middleton-in-Teesdale, we are the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life. We are in an excellent location for exploring County Durham, including the charming market town of Barnard Castle which is only 12 miles away.
Accommodation
Our beautiful barn retains many original features whist offering high-quality accommodation. Delightful features include exposed beams, authentic stonework and superb floor to ceiling windows which take advantage of the stunning views of the North Pennine hills.You can unwind in the cosy living room which comes with plenty of seating, TV with Freesat, a DVD player and an electric fire. The mezzanine offers another space to relax, great for reading a good book or admiring the view. The fully-equipped kitchen is ideal for cooking up some home-cooked delights. Appliances include a gas hob, full size electric fan oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There’s also a log burning stove and underfloor heating to keep you toasty. A large round table is great for dining on and we provide plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses.
Two comfortable bedrooms are available: a downstairs double with a memory foam mattress and an upstairs twin. Both rooms share a bathroom on the first floor which comes with an electric shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.
We have a peaceful patio/garden area to enjoy on a warm summer’s day. The patio comes with a picnic table and the garden is fully fenced, perfect for your four-legged companions.
Visiting Lunedale & Exploring County Durham
Teesdale is one of the most picturesque parts of County Durham, with an abundance of scenic walks to enjoy. The nearby market town of Barnard Castle is great for shoppers, with lots of antique shops waiting to be discovered. Food lovers are spoilt for choice as the town has a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs available, all serving home-made food. Brilliant attractions to visit include:The Bowes Museum.
Egglestone Abbey.
