Beaford Country House offers self catering accommodation set in 30 acres of gardens and grounds located in Beaford near Great Torrington in Devon. There are stunning views towards Dartmoor and we are also available as an exclusive wedding venue.

Accommodation

The main house at Beaford House offers a stunning array of amenities and spaces, perfect for relaxation and entertaining. It features a magnificent dining room, a large hall, a drawing room with an open fire and a cosy library/snug ideal for children to watch DVDs or play games. The spacious kitchen combines original features with modern conveniences, including granite countertops, a 4-oven Aga and a 6-burner electric oven. Off the kitchen are a scullery with a commercial dishwasher, a larder with shelving, a secondary prep kitchen with additional storage and a freezer and a utility room with a washing machine and chest freezer. French doors throughout the house open onto a verandah and gardens, providing immediate access to the outdoors.

The house has 9 individually designed bedrooms, 8 of which are en-suite, with the 9th having a private bathroom. Bedrooms include options like four-poster beds, king-size beds and family rooms sleeping up to four, some with balconies or valley views. Additional family bathrooms are located on the landings for convenience. The sleeping arrangements are as follows: Room 1 (Four Poster), Room 2 (Double with balcony), Room 3 (Double and two singles with balcony), Room 4 (King), Room 5 (King and single), Room 6 (Double and two singles), Room 8 (King), Room 9 (Double) and Room 10 (Twin with private bathroom).

Set amidst tranquil countryside, Beaford House is surrounded by extensive gardens and grounds, complete with a children’s outdoor playhouse, BBQ, and ample seating on the lawns and veranda. Guests can enjoy the outdoor heated pool (available from Whitsun to mid-September), a year-round private hot tub, a large BBQ hut and a quirky outdoor bar. The BBQ Lodge is perfect for any weather, providing a cosy and unique experience, whether it’s a blustery evening with mulled wine or a summer night with sizzling steaks.

Beaford House is a fantastic venue for parties, weddings and entertaining throughout the year. It boasts breathtaking views, a romantic atmosphere and all the comforts needed for a luxurious stay. All electricity, gas, linen and initial fuel for open fires are included. The attached ballroom, available for an additional £1450 per booking, provides extra indoor space for events and is licensed for civil weddings, making Beaford House the perfect setting for unforgettable celebrations.
